WHO IS ELIGIBLE

15-24 years olds who:

  • Living in a household with children and no employment income
  • Finding it difficult to secure a job AND/OR be interested in alternative training options

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Strive For Success Job Skills Training and Employment Program
is aimed at young people to help them become part of the workforce.

ABOUT

‘Strive For Success’ is a new Training and Employment Program aimed at young people seeking to become part of the workforce.

We can help you find work, apprenticeships, traineeships and the right education courses for you to secure future employment.

We offer one-on-one mentoring and support to help set and achieve goals, improve job skills, find and apply for work and interview with confidence.

Finding a job can be downright scary and confusing – but you don’t have to do it alone, we are here to help you through it.

CONTACT US

You can either fill out an enquiry form or call the office or be referred by your school, family or community.

One of our Job Coaches will contact you and arrange an appointment time to talk and create an Employment Pathway Plan together.

You are welcome to attend by yourself or bring a support person.

EMPLOYMENT PATHWAY PLAN

Everyone completes the Strive for Success in-house employability program.

We will:

  • Identify your desired line of employment.
  • Identify what barriers to employment you are experiencing and provide practical support to overcome these.
  • Help you write a winning resume and train you to succeed in interviews.
  • Identify any additional training programs needed to secure your desired employment type and support you through them.
  • Hold weekly appointments in a private, friendly space with your Job Coach to discuss progress and other support needs.

Once you have completed the appropriate training, we will connect you with local businesses and support you to secure a job.

Once you secure a job, you are welcome to access post-placement support for up to 12 mths, maximising your ability to overcome any hurdles in those first important months.

Note: we can provide PPE and uniforms as required.

located in both the Mid-North Coast and Illawarra.

Highly successful youth service, Homebase Youth Services (HYS), delivers Strive for Success in the Mid-North Coast.

HYS has supported young people to develop economic and social livelihoods for over 25 years through early intervention programs, case management, referrals and empowering activities. Strive for Success participants benefit from the HYS team’s extensive youth work experience and strong network of services, government departments and schools.

Award-winning social enterprise Green Connect delivers Strive for Success in the Illawarra region.

Green Connect has been creating employment opportunities for young people facing barriers to employment through its Farm, Zero Waste Services, Op Shops and Workforce Solutions for over a decade. The team are passionate about supporting Strive for Success participants to gain meaningful employment and build brighter futures.
